On-device authentication
- PIN entry — always enter your PIN on the device screen, not on your computer.
- Passphrase (optional) — adds a hidden wallet; you must remember the passphrase or funds will be inaccessible.
- Address & amount verification — confirm these directly on your Trezor before approving any transaction.
Login flow notes:
- Connect device → device prompts: allow requested actions on the hardware display.
- Enter PIN directly on device when asked; the host app only requests confirmation.
- After successful authentication the client will display account balances and recent activity.
Frequently asked questions
Can I login without the physical device?
No. Hardware wallets require the physical device for authentication. If you have your recovery seed you can restore the wallet on another compatible device.
What if I forget my PIN?
Too many incorrect attempts will enforce delays. Your recovery seed allows you to restore funds to a new device if the PIN is lost.
Is my seed safe if I use a passphrase?
The passphrase and seed together unlock a hidden wallet. If you lose the passphrase but keep the seed, you may not be able to access funds protected by the passphrase.
